Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area

Just about an hour south of Boise is the Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area. The NCA encompasses483,000 acres along 80 miles of the Snake River in southwest Idaho. Theriver lies within a deep canyon with cliffs towering up to 700 feet abovethe river. This unique landscape supports the densest nestingconcentration of birds of prey in North America. More than 800 pairs offalcons, eagles, hawks and owls gather here each spring to mate and raisetheir young.
